SHRM CERTIFICATION CLARIFIED!
If you are not yet one of the nearly 97,000 HR professionals with a SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, you may have been thinking about becoming SHRM certified.
2017 may be your year to take the plunge—important updates are about to happen! Two years after the inauguration of its two certifications, SHRM is making these changes:
- New competency clusters and updated definitions of HR competencies
- Changes in certification exam scoring and administration
- Changes in eligibility for students in undergraduate and graduate HR programs aligned to the SHRM Curriculum guidelines (starting with December 2017 certification exams)
- SHRM’s certifications have just become accredited.
If you are eligible for certification now or in the near future and need information to help you make your decision on becoming SHRM certified, this is the program for you. We will also discuss SHRM’s overall certification process and the value of being certified, for you and your employer. The presenter will be William Ninehan, SPHR, GPHR, PHRca, SHRM-SCP. Mr. Ninehan is an instructor for the SHRM Learning System and NYC SHRM’s Certification Chair.
